Mirza Ghulam Ahmad is known to have had many prophecies〔(【引用サイトリンク】title=Great Is Mirza Ghulam Ahmad (as) )〕 during his lifetime. Some were of an intuitive nature, pertaining to everyday matters or events which are said to have been fulfilled immediately after having been foreseen and may be seen as remote viewing. Some of greater significance are believed to have been fulfilled during his lifetime; some, according to his followers, were fulfilled after his death, whilst some await fulfilment. Others, according to his critics, seemed to have been proven wrong. The Deputy Inspector General of Punjab Police in 1928 stated that Ghulam Ahmad was a cause of great unrest due to the prophecies he made concerning the deaths of his adversaries. A commentator even blamed his "uncanny knack of predicting the demise of his key enemies" for making a lot of Hindu enemies.〔(Self and Sovereignty: Individual and Community in South Asian Islam Since 1850 ), by Ayesha Jalal, p 291〕 One aspect upon which he based the validity of his claims was the fulfilment of prophecies made by him.
